She began her career with the popular band ‘Reach’, signed to the WEA record label with hits like ‘Sooner or later’ and ‘Jamaica Funk’. Under their new name ‘Urban Speech’ they went on to release the hit single ‘Let me go’, culminating with their album, ‘Do something’, produced in the UK. She has an impressive list of stage performances supporting such stars as Curtis Mayfield, the Fatback Band and Alexander O’Neil to name but a few.

Lynieve’s professional career came to the fore when she joined ‘M People’ as a backing vocalist. She travelled the world to countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, America, Brazil; singing to capacity audiences. She has made many appearances on various programmes such as ‘Later with Jools Holland’, ‘Smash Hits Awards’, ‘Top of the pops and several video appearances and festivals. At Euro '96 shared the stage with ‘Simply Red’, ‘Madness’ and many other artists.

With her roots in soul, she is now exploring other styles – folk, rock, Latin, flamenco and jazz, adding diversity and depth to her recent live performances, which also includes singing in Spanish. At a time when audiences are demanding genuine live performances, Lynieve is embracing new genres to create a new sound. With her amazing voice and cutting edge lyrics Lynieve is a breath of fresh air.

One her more recent bands was an exceptional fusion of Flamenco and Jazz band called Almaraya working with artist such as Simon James (classical Guitar) and Job Verweijen (Percussion).

Outside of her own project Lynieve also features on other albums, one such artist being John Heavens (a Jazz Artist), who has had one album release called “Big City Calling” on the Jazzizit record label. He is currently working on his second album on which Lynieve features as a lead and backing vocalist.

To add to her diversity she features in a South London funk collective called “The KB Fusionnaires”, who have performed extensively across the capital and have released their own EP called “Introfusion”.

Her most current work is with Raie which is a beautiful blend of soulful Rhtym 'n'Blues with a hint of country. In contrast to this Lynieve is singing backing vocals with Imaani who has sung lead with the iconic band "Incognito" her tradtions are in soul and R'N'B.
