Much Fruit Productions
100% Pass Rate @ MFP

When I first decided to go for the graded exams in vocals, I found it very daunting. I love to sing, but being examined was a whole new experience. However, Muchfruit ensured that I was fully prepared. Every lesson leading up to the exam took the form of the exam setting. I was taken through all of the drills that I was going to be examined on and I was given time to practice the songs. Feedback was always honest and constructive. I was also given a mock exam by an external vocal coach which proved invaluable. By time the exam day arrived, of course, I felt that usual "performers' anxiety" but I felt fully prepared. As a result I was able to relax during the exam and give a much better performance of the technical drills and songs.

Vocal Grades

So you wanna take vocal grades!

Achieving LCM grades whilst you learn to sing and improve your musicianship is definitely the way forward!

We will have an initial consultation with you to assess the correct grade that you can go for (grades are set between one and eight). We will give you a study guide to help with your independent practice targets and we will support you through the process of contacting LCM to apply for your grade when the time is right. To agree readiness for the test you will be regularly demonstrating an improvement in all of the required areas and clear familiarity with following instructions, terminology and repertoire preparation.

What are the benifits:
The benefits are many on both a personal and a professional level. You will have a very definite goal to work towards – no more putting off your exercises ‘till later’ – you’ll be spurred on to discover how much fun you can have as you improve on your scales, your solo repertoire and your music theory – just because you’ve set that deadline!

You will also build your confidence in music settings such as band practice, choir, song writing and recording studio. You’ll be able to recognise much more detail when you’re listening to your favourite artistes.

Taking grades will enable to put your grade on your personal profile and when you get to the higher grades you can use it on your professional CV – a grade five will be a great entry qualification for FE courses and workshop leading in your community! A grade six and upwards can support your application for entry to university and a grade eight can mean that you teach on a professional level for a variety of organizations!

We estimate the average time required to prepare successfully for a test to be between six and eight months from your consultation with regular fortnightly visits.
